Dominic passed away at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after facing his illness with remarkable strength, determination, and resilience. Born in Malden and raised in Woburn, Dominic built a life rooted in family values, dedication, and community. He was the beloved husband of Diane (Iacovone) Calder, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage filled with love, partnership, and countless cherished memories. Their enduring relationship served as the foundation of a family that brought Dominic immense pride and joy throughout his life.
Above all else, Dominic was a devoted family man. His greatest accomplishments were not measured by professional achievements but by the love he shared with his wife and children. He was a proud father to his three sons—Dominic J. Calder Jr., Joseph M. Calder, and Luke T. Calder—who were the center of his world. Whether cheering from the sidelines, offering guidance, or simply spending time together, Dominic made it clear that his family always came first.
His legacy also lives on through his father, Walter Calder of Billerica, as well as his brothers Michael Spinelli, Paul Scott, and Anthony Calder, and his sisters Christine Napolitano, Tracy Allen Calder, and Malissa Morris. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth (Benedetto) Calder, whose memory remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Professionally, Dominic earned widespread respect through a remarkable 30-year career as a mechanic. Known by many as a true “Jack-of-All-Trades,” he possessed an extraordinary ability to repair, build, and solve problems. Friends, family members, and customers often marveled at his mechanical skills and practical knowledge, trusting him to tackle challenges that others considered impossible.

Whether fixing a vehicle, repairing something around a home, or lending advice, he was often the first person family and friends called when they needed assistance.
